A dispute is for when a delivery does not match what was agreed and a revision has not fixed it.
Try these first
- Raise it in the chat. Most disputes are scope misunderstandings and resolve within a day.
- Request a revision. If the work is within scope but incomplete, this is the faster route.
Opening one
Raise a dispute on the milestone. Escrow freezes immediately. Nothing releases to the expert and nothing returns to you until it is resolved.
Provide:
- what the accepted proposal required;
- what was actually delivered;
- what specifically does not match;
- the outcome you are asking for.
Be concrete. Quote the proposal.
How it is decided
We review the accepted proposal, the milestone scope, the deliverables, the screening result and the project messages. Both sides get to respond.
The decision turns on what the proposal required against what was delivered. We do not decide whether the research reached a good result, whether your supervisor liked it, or whether a journal accepted it. None of those are within an expert's control.
Outcomes
Full release, full return, a partial split reflecting completed scope, or a further revision round with a new deadline.
Timing
Acknowledged within 2 business days; decided within 10 business days of receiving what we need from both sides. Complex disputes take longer and we will say so rather than going quiet.
Status: this part of Researchor is built in the interface but is not yet connected to live systems. The steps below describe how it will work. We will update this article when it goes live.
