These terms apply in addition to the Terms of Service when you offer services on Researchor.
Your status
You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, partner or agent of Researchor or of Lumio Africa. You decide which projects to take, how to perform them, and when you work.
You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, equipment and professional registrations.
Your profile
Everything on your profile must be true: your qualifications, institution, field, methods, experience and publications. Where we ask for supporting evidence such as a CV or certificate, provide it or remove the claim.
Misrepresenting qualifications is a breach of the Academic Integrity Policy and grounds for permanent closure.
Proposals and delivery
A proposal is a binding offer. State the scope, the milestones, the fee, the deadline and the number of revisions included, and honour what you stated.
Where you cannot meet a deadline, say so before it passes. Where a brief is outside your competence or would require academic misconduct, decline it.
Deliver through the platform. Deliverables submitted outside Researchor are not covered by escrow, are not screened, and are not protected if a dispute arises.
What you must decline
You must decline any project that would require you to do anything listed as prohibited in the Academic Integrity Policy, whatever the fee. Accepting such a project is a breach of this agreement even if the client proposed it.
You are encouraged to report such requests rather than only declining them.
Confidentiality
Treat everything a client shares as confidential. Do not reuse a client's data, instruments or unpublished material on another project or in your own work without written permission. Do not disclose that a person is a client without their agreement.
Payment
You are paid from escrow on milestone approval, less the service fee disclosed before you accepted the offer. See the Payment & Escrow Policy.
You may not solicit payment outside Researchor for work introduced through it.
Reviews
Clients may review your work. Reviews reflect their experience. Do not offer anything in exchange for a review, ask a client to change one, or retaliate against a client for one.
Account standing
Repeated late delivery, unresolved disputes, or breaches of this agreement may lead to reduced visibility in matching, restrictions on taking new projects, or account closure.
