Two-factor authentication means a stolen password alone is not enough to reach your account.
Turning it on
Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication. You will be asked to confirm your password, then to set up your second factor and confirm it once before it takes effect.
Why
Passwords leak through breaches on other sites. For an account that holds money and confidential research data, a second factor is the single highest-value setting available to you.
Recovery
Set up recovery before you need it, and store the recovery option somewhere other than the device holding your second factor. Losing both means proving your identity to support, which is slower and requires documents.
If you lose access
Write to support@researchor.org.ng from the email on the account. We will ask you to verify your identity before restoring access.
