You are paid per milestone, on approval.
When money releases
- On client approval. The usual route.
- On auto-release, if the client neither approves nor raises a revision or dispute within the review window.
- On a dispute decision in your favour, or on the split a decision sets.
What you receive
The milestone fee less Researchor's service fee. The net figure is shown before you accept the offer, so check it then.
Where it goes
Your Researchor Available Balance, shown on your dashboard. From there you withdraw to a bank account or PayPal. See Withdrawals.
If a client goes quiet
The review window exists for exactly this. It runs out and the milestone auto-releases. You do not need to chase.
If payment is disputed
Escrow freezes. Respond with the accepted proposal and what you delivered. Decisions turn on proposal against delivery, which is why a specific proposal protects you.
Off-platform payment
Never accept it for work introduced through Researchor. It removes your escrow protection entirely and breaches the Expert Agreement.
